Who is Keith Mesecher? As a long-time spiritual seeker I have spent over 50 years learning a wide array of practices and techniques to calm inner struggles, generate wellbeing and happiness, and heighten mental focus. I have needed these practices, for in my past I have dealt with profound depression, fear and anxiety. The practices I employ and teach have transformed my life. Depression, fear and anxiety are only a narrow slice of my life these days. I have studied at Deer Park Monastery in Escondido, CA, and I am ordained in the Zen Buddhist lineage of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. I live a vegan lifestyle and I work to minimize my ecological footprint, serving as a role model for sustainable living that is in harmony with the Earth. The goal of my teaching is to help people walk their own path of peacefulness and spiritual development. I hope you'll join me in this transformative journey and share this site with anyone who you feel may benefit.

Global Warming, The Big Picture
This video is about global warming in the context of the 4 billion year history of life on earth and our changing sun. |
What is this all about?
Sharing a Lifetime of Knowledge
I am excited to share my knowledge in ways that are easy to understand and implement. Sessions are taught online and in person and include meditation, using a bell, presentations and handouts. I also offer a safe and supportive community, both in real world gatherings and online.
Vision
We live in "interesting" times. Global warming, environmental destruction and warfare greet us on a daily basis. What can one person do about these challenges? While the news can be overwhelming, we are all on a common path, and together we can heal and transform our world. My teachings are devoted to transforming our own and other's consciousness, with the ultimate goal of global transformation. That may sound grand, but the power of the human mind is the reason behind our current situation. I believe it can be the solution, too.
The Way Forward
Only by coming together as the whole human community can we address the global problems we collectively face. Our best hope is to re-align ourselves with the natural world and bring humanity into harmony with the whole earth community. It is time to cultivate a mutually-enhancing relationship with all of the other species and leave behind the short-sighted path of excess resource extraction, consumption and dumping of waste. We begin this process step-by-step, caring for our selves (body, feelings, mind) and caring for our planet (living sustainably, preserving and protecting). My goal is to plant, nurture and spread seeds of mindfulness from person to person in an ever-expanding circle of friends, family, community, and human kind. As your mindfulness practice deepens you'll find that your tensions soften and your life achieves a richness of purpose, which you can then radiate out to help others. In addition to healing the world, mindfulness makes good things better.
